Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking an experienced professional with current expertise in operations and maintenance of U.S. Navy submarine Electronic Warfare (EW) systems/equipment (AN/BLQ-10), and associated training needs.  We’re looking for someone who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment and is comfortable splitting time between several functional areas associated with the Submarine Force and other communities.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

Applying your technical expertise and fleet experience, you’ll join a project team that designs, develops, and delivers training products that address our customers’ training or performance gaps.  You’ll become an integral member of a team that includes instructional designers, graphic artists, software programmers, and project managers.

You will also apply your technical and operational expertise to be an essential part of our electronics production team, collaborating with engineers and subject matter experts in the research, design, fabrication, testing, and evaluation of modern EW and other related electro-mechanical systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years active duty service in U.S. Navy Submarine Force, ending within the last 5 years
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical information in concise and easy to understand language
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance*

Desired Qualifications:

  • Operational and/or maintenance experience across multiple submarine platforms (e.g., SSN 688, SSBN 726, SSN 21, SSN 774) with a variety of equipment (e.g., AN/BLQ-10, Integrated Submarine Imaging System (ISIS), Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR)) in various configurations
  • Experience as a Navy instructor, course supervisor or in developing Navy Training Systems products
  • Experience with submarine maintenance, troubleshooting, and Quality Assurance processes and procedures
  • 5 years relevant experience in analysis, testing, and/or certification of EW, Imaging or other electronics systems
  • Experience working with and repairing fiber optical systems
  • 2M and/or J standard certification with knowledge of ESD requirements
  • Experience in maintaining and designing a 5S work environment.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment and/or Department of Defense (DoD) engineering processes
  • Experience interpreting and/or developing technical drawing and work packages.
  • Ability to use and interpret electronic test equipment
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Possessing an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance*

*Obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance involves a comprehensive background check.  Candidates are eligible for a clearance if they have demonstrated sound financial management (including good credit) over time, are free of criminal records, have limited foreign contacts or ties, and other factors indicative of a position of trust to protect information sensitive to the U.S. Government.
