What you will be doing:
In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and subject matter experts to conduct research, design, development, test and evaluation of electronics / electromagnetic systems with a focus on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) controls. General responsibilities include:
- Architect & Design: Lead the design and development of key software components such as hardware abstraction layers, prioritizing scalability, maintainability, and security. You'll be instrumental in defining the architecture of our systems, ensuring they can adapt to changing requirements and integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure.
- Own the Lifecycle: Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Tech-Agnostic Explorer: Work with a variety of technologies and frameworks, and a willingness to learn new ones. Use analytical and problem-solving skills to develop software using modern programming languages and technologies.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical degree
- 3+ years of recent software application development experience
- Experience with C/C++ or similar strongly typed object-oriented language (e.g., .NET C#, Java, Rust)
- Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance*
Desired, but not required, qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Systems Engineering
- Expertise with ATE design and development
- Experience with NI TestStand, LabVIEW, and/or LabWindows/CVI
- Experience in and/or knowledge of:
- Multiple development languages such as C++, Java, Typescript, and Python
- Asynchronous programming and general multi-threaded applications
- Unit and integration testing
- Secure coding and application hardening
- Security+ or similar certifications
- Object oriented design and UML tools; Model-Based Systems Engineering
- Experience in design, development, and/or testing of embedded systems including Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGAs) and associated firmware such as Very High-Speed Integrated Circuit (VHSIC) Hardware Description Language (VHDL)
- Expertise in testing US Navy torpedo systems, especially the MK 48 Heavyweight Torpedo
- Expertise with antenna, Radio Frequency (RF), and/or Electronic Warfare (EW) system design and development
- Expertise with Electro-Optics, Infrared (IR), and/or mmWave radar design and development
- Experience working in CMMI Level 3 environment and/or Department of Defense (DoD) engineering processes
- Experience collaborating with Government agencies on development projects
- Possessing an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance*
*Obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance involves a comprehensive background check.
