Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking a Robotic Autonomous Systems Engineer to support the expanding integration of unmanned systems into undersea warfighting.  This position would suport unmanned systems operations at the Undersea Warfighting Development Center (UWDC) in Groton, CT. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the development of innovative analysis and research projects that will expand the capabilities of the Submarine Force and the Navy at large.

• Lead interesting and challenging analysis and research projects supporting current submarine operations.
• Leverage previous tactical and operational experience to analyze world-wide submarine operations using innovative data analysis tools to provide feedback, lessons learned, and data trends.
• Directly and positively impact submarine operations, naval warfare planning, tactics, advanced technologies, and training using analytical and problem-solving skills as part of the UWDC Team.
• Apply knowledge and experience as a submariner to a wide variety of additional projects and initiatives.

• Salary ranges between $125,000-$150,000, dependent on experience, qualifications, and other relevant business criteria.

Required Qualifications:

• 2 years of operational experience with subsea robotics (AUV/UUV or ROV) and undersea warfare (torpedoes or mine hunting) including post-mission analysis
• 3 years design and prototyping experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or mathematics or related technical discipline; 4 years of experience with UUV analysis or operations can be substituted for degree.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, possessing a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance and eligible for a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance*

 Desired Qualifications:

• Experience appling research principles to engineering design efforts
• Participation in field deployments, data collection and system testing necessary to determine operational readiness and safety
• Autonomy algorithm development or testing in both HIL/SIL and test environments supporting military applications
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) or related experience in the application of robotics, autonomy, or machine learning algorithms.
• Extensive knowledge of undersea system sensor/payload integration
• Experience in Python or other programming languages
• Expertise in submarine tactics or tactical system employment
