Sonalysts is seeking a submarine qualified, commissioned URL officer to lead a data‑collection program in Pearl Harbor, HI. The successful candidate will become part of a small, expanding group of subject‑matter experts known as SSN/SSGN Operations Statistics (SSOS), which is transforming data management and analysis across every level of the submarine force. We seek a self‑driven professional who can work independently on assignments and thrives on direct interaction with—and support for—submarine crews. In addition, the role includes supporting COMSUBPAC and acting as a liaison for the Undersea Security Program.

This position is a rare opportunity to support both the individual crews and the highest levels of the submarine service in a manner that is exciting, challenging, and rewarding. Frequent travel to Pacific submarine concentration areas in the U.S., its territories, and Asia is required.

 

Utilize your prior tactical and operational background to examine global submarine activities with cutting‑edge data‑analysis tools, delivering insightful feedback, lessons learned, and emerging data trends.

  • Drive engaging and demanding analytical and research initiatives that bolster ongoing submarine operations.
  • Influence submarine missions, naval warfare strategy, tactics, emerging technologies, and training in a constructive way by applying analytical expertise and problem‑solving abilities as a member of the SSOS team.

  • Salary range $130,000-$165,000, dependent on experience, qualifications, and other relevant business criteria.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Navy URL Submarine Officer with at least 3 years of recent experience in submarine operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, possessing a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET clearance and eligible for a TOP SECRET clearance.*

 

Preferred candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or technical field.
  • Overseas deployment experience as Officer of the Deck on an SSN/SSGN.
  • Experience as Officer of the Deck on an operational SSN/SSGN.
  • Experience in operations research and analysis.
  • Experience in data science techniques and processes.
  • Experience in Python, MATLAB, or other programming languages.
